Style Identity Crisis

Lately my style has been just as confusing as this weather…GMB All Black LookHave you ever felt lost when it comes to your style? Have you looked in your closet and instead of ‘spring cleaning’ you just want to do a full purge? Well, that’s exactly how I’m feeling.GMB Street ArtGetting inspired when you like only 20% of the things in your closet can be off-putting.  And the amount of trends that come out every season, while are very fun and exciting, can also be very overwhelming. Especially as I get older, I look at some of the items sold in my favorite stores, and those pieces that have been sitting in my closet and ask myself – would I really wear that? Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of fashion bloggers that are younger than me that I follow and admire because they’re so bold and fearless, but lately when I try to emulate their style it just doesn’t fit…for me. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m in my last year of my 20’s or simply because my style is evolving.

Let’s just say I’m at a crossroad – some days I like to test my style (and bravery) by trying new trends, or to be edgy chic, and other days I like to stay in my comfort zone by being a minimalist.  Either way, I think it’s time I let go of those items I know I will never wear again, and build a closet that better reflects who I am.gmb-clutchStarting with these Alexander Wang pumps that I found at a Barneys Warehouse sale a few weeks back in Brooklyn :)gmb-pop-of-colorgmb-fall-look
