I have been pining over getting a juicer for the longest and I was extremely excited when I finally got the Breville juicer for Christmas! Previously I had been using a blender to make fruit and veggie smoothies however the consistency isn’t as fine as it is when using a juicer. While many of my friends have tried at least one of these juice cleanses (which I considered trying several times), I decided I couldn’t go three days without chewing and without eating actual food. So instead, now that I have my juicer all set up I figure the best way to stay healthy is to substitute junk food with a fresh glass of pure fruit & veggie juice.
Here are a couple of my favorites so far:
Beginner – this one is sweet (the more apples you use the sweeter the juice):
3 apples // 1 orange peeled // ½ lemon // ¼ thumb ginger// handful of spinach // 4 celery stalks
Another recipe that is delicious and a bit citrusy includes:
2 apples // 3 celery stalks // 1 cucumber // ½ thumb ginger // ½ lemon // 1 lime// 1 bunch parsley // 2 cups spinach // 2 kiwi
If you don’t have a juicer you can still create these juices by adding water or any preferred liquid (pineapple juice, apple juice, etc.) in a blender. I also like to add ice to keep it cool.
