Hot Toddies

IMG_1706IMG_1694IMG_1691IMG_1702IMG_1704IMG_1710The weather in NY this past month has been so unpredictable, it’s either so cold that the meteorologists created a name for it – Polar Vortex (which sounds like a type of winter coat). Or the weather can be mistaken for fall. Mother Nature, make up your mind already! The perfect drink for helping you stay warm and cold-free is a hot toddy (spiked of course).  I find that they’re underrated, but during the cold winter nights it’s my go-to drink at a bar and at home, especially if I’m feeling under the weather.

It’s the easiest drink to make using only the following ingredients:

Boiling water, Lemon, honey, tea (I used English breakfast tea), cloves and a shot of whiskey

Directions:

Boil water in a tea kettle (or microwave). Pour water into a mug, and then add the tea, spoonful of honey, squeezed lemon juice and a shot of whiskey. Cut a slice of lemon and stick 5 cloves into it. Drop it in the mug and enjoy!
